The smallest system that Chiltern Future Energy will install is approximately 7 square metres. Using the latest Sanyo module technology this size of system should generate 1000 units of electricity per annum.

With the average house in the UK estimated at using 3-3500 units of electricity every year, a 7 square metre system could produce close to one third of the yearly requirements. This assumes of course no basic energy efficiency measures such as the fitting of low energy light bulbs throughout the house.

In addition, the solar PV system:

  • produces pure green electricity with no carbon dioxide emissions.
  • is efficient and reliable, guaranteed by the manufacturers to produce electricity for the next 20 or 25 years.
  • turns your home into a small generator, possibly qualifying for Renewable Obligation Certificates under the Government’s new rules introduced on 1 April 2004
  • helps to protect you from future rising energy prices
